So you thought you had at last got your acne cleared up but here it comes again. Are you fed up with the battle against acne almost on a daily basis? There is clearly a reason for these constant break outs and you just need to find out what it is. Generally this is by a process of elimination. The problem could be the soap you are using. It could be your skin type. These types of acne are usually easy to clear. But, once you get your acne cleared up, it might have left scars.
If your acne disappears only to leave scars on your face, what are you to do? No one wants to have scars on their face. The worst scars will probably be from the acne that was harder to clear up or that you did not care for properly.
This is the very worst thing which you can do when your face breaks out in spots. The best way to clear your face is simply to wash it and then apply either an over the counter medicine or a prescription medicine, whichever gives you the best results, and then to simply leave well alone.
However, if you end up with scars and feel that you need to get rid of them then there are a few things that you can do. But, before trying any method to get rid of acne scars you should first consult your doctor as he can advise you on the best treatment. And do not forget that you only have one face so you need to be very careful.
The following are examples of a few of the most popular types of scar removal available today.
One of the most commonly used treatments for removing scars is dermabrasion in which the skin is first anesthetized and then a high speed brush is used to remove layers of your skin and, along with them, your acne scars. Once your skin recovers the scarring will either be gone or will be much less visible than it was before the treatment.
Laser treatment is often the option for some people. Using carbon dioxide lasers can take care of both the size of the scars and their outline especially if they are curved or irregular. Sometimes this can work in one laser treatment but the skin will not be completely clear for a few weeks since the burning of the skin tissue is how this works.
There is a surgery that will removed the deep pitted acne scars. This is known as punching. An incision is made in the scar and it is cut out by cutting all the way down into the fat below the surface of the skin. The hole is then either stitched up or a graft of skin is adhered to it.
Depending upon the type of acne scars you have, some may not go away by using dermabrasion. These pink or red acne scars are called keloids. The treatments for typical acne can sometimes cause other keloids to form. For this type of acne either a steroid type of drug is put in the skin around the scar or the scar is treated by injection. The treatment of this type of acne scar is not always easy and success will vary from one person to the next.
